Our Verdict
The Smartwool Women’s Hike Light Cushion Ankle Socks offer a comfortable, well-fitting option for low-cut hiking shoes and trail runners. I found them excellent for warmer hikes, with their Merino wool construction providing excellent moisture management and temperature regulation. The light cushioning along the footbed offers enough comfort without bulk, making them ideal for long treks where breathability is key.
Thanks to the Indestructawool™ technology, these socks feel durable and resilient but are, most importantly, still incredibly comfortable, even after repeated use. The 4 Degree™ elite fit system ensures a snug, performance-oriented fit that stays in place, while the mesh zones help with ventilation. At just 51g for a medium pair, they’re lightweight but offer ample protection from blisters.
