Our Verdict
The Montbell Wickron UV-TECT Hoodie is an outstanding choice for reliable sun protection and comfort on the trail. The Wickron’s UPF 30 fabric offers good UV protection, making it ideal for hiking in intense sunlight.
Thanks to its quick-drying polyester fabric, the hoodie excels in breathability and moisture management. It effectively wicks sweat away, keeping you dry and comfortable even on hot days. The fabric’s odour control feature is a welcome addition, reducing the presence of bacteria, keeping you fresher for longer.
The hoodie is designed with practicality in mind. It includes a loose-fitting hood and long sleeves with thumb holes, ensuring comprehensive sun protection. The use of Flat Seam Technology enhances comfort by eliminating bulk along the seams, providing a smooth touch against the skin and reducing the risk of chafing during long hikes.
The Wickron has a more stander European” fit. I usually wear a medium, which fits me fine. However, when it comes to Sun Hoodies, I prefer to size up. This gives them a billowy cut that I find helps with air circulation. But remember, this is just my personal preference.
