Our Verdict
This incredibly low-weight, low-bulk, minimalist rain shell is designed with mountain runners in mind. It’s a super slimmed-down shell that keeps its feature set minimum. Pre-elasticated cuffs and pre-elasticated adjustments around the hood keep the jacket in place without needing additional fastenings, adjustments and Velcro. The hood offers protection, but I would definitely pair it with a cap, as the stiffened peak is small and doesn’t keep the rain out of my eyes. The ½ length, two-way zip is a nice touch; it lets you tailor just how much ventilation and coverage you get at any time.
It’s a rapid deploy, emergency shell for runners looking to shed every gram they can, not something I would use as an everyday waterproof.
