Our Verdict
The Osprey Transporter Squffel 70L hits that sweet spot for gear-heavy travel when a standard duffel doesn’t cut it. The split-case layout—more like a suitcase than a traditional top-loader—sets it apart, making it far easier to keep clean and dirty kit separate. The clamshell design with roll-away dividers means you can find what you packed, rather than rooting through a black hole of layers and kit pouches.
But the real strength lies in the carry system. The deployable backpack straps are better built than many full-time packs—well-padded, balanced, and paired with a proper sternum strap that helps keep the load stable when you're on foot for more than a dash to the terminal. For its size, it’s manageable on the back, and the grab handles make it easy to throw around when needed. Materials feel burly enough for rough baggage handling, yet it's surprisingly light for a 70-litre hauler.
