Our Verdict
The Montane Trailblazer 25 is an exceptionally well-designed, versatile daypack perfect for fast hiking, peak bagging, or everyday use. At 25 litres, it has an ample capacity for day hiking essentials while still being sleek and low-profile.
What sets the Trailblazer apart is its outstanding carrying comfort and stability. The 3D moulded foam back panel with air mesh provides excellent ventilation and cushioning. The covalent harness system hugs the pack close to your body for an incredibly stable carry over rough terrain. The sternum straps can be adjusted on the go, though I must say I find them a little stiff and fiddly at first, but this eases with time
The organisation is top-notch with stretchy mesh pockets, intelligent compartments, and Montane's modular T-Hook system to attach gear where you want it externally. Dual-side stretch pockets allow rapid access to bottles or accessories.
Built from durable recycled fabrics and boasting features like a reinforced base and PFC-free water repellency, the Trailblazer is an impressively sustainable pack that doesn't compromise performance. Though I wish it came with more than two T-Hooks to add some versatility.
Overall, the streamlined, body-mapped design provides unmatched carrying comfort and mobility, making the Trailblazer 25 a superb daypack for moving fast over technical terrain. The customisable organisation and rugged yet lightweight eco-friendly build are other huge pluses.
