The Talon 44 was designed with ultralight multi-day adventures and travellers in mind. An injection-moulded AirScape™ backpanel and a continuous-wrap harness and hipbelt allow the pack to move with you when navigating demanding terrain. This streamlined pack features a top-loading main compartment, hydration reservoir sleeve, dual zippered hip pockets, and attachment points for ice axes and trekking poles. Constructed with high-quality bluesign®-approved recycled high-tenacity nylon with a PFC-free DWR coating.
Our Verdict
The updated 2025 Talon 44 keeps everything that made the previous model a favourite, but refines the fit, frame and materials for an even smoother carry. Weighing 1638g (S/M), it’s aimed squarely at those moving quickly with dialled-in kit — whether for fastpacking, weekend missions, or minimalist multi-day trips.
The new AirScape back panel feels noticeably more supportive than earlier versions, with improved structure and airflow thanks to its updated foam pattern and injection-moulded frame. The BioStretch harness and hipbelt wrap closely to the body and flex with movement, keeping the load stable when scrambling or covering ground at pace. The adjustable torso system is now buckle-based rather than velcro, which makes micro-adjustments easier and more precise.
I like the layout — a floating lid, internal hydration sleeve, generous front shove-it pocket, and dual access side stretch pockets keep gear accessible. Side compression works well, though fully cinched straps can limit water bottle access. There’s no built-in rain cover, so I’d pair this with dry bags or bring a lightweight cover.
Comfortable, stable and breathable, the Talon 44 remains one of the best lightweight packs for dynamic days on the trail.
