Designed for dynamic body movement, the Talon 33 is a streamlined top-loader for light-and-fast overnights or committing day trips. An injection-moulded AirScape™ backpanel and a continuous-wrap harness and hipbelt allow the pack to move with you no matter if you’re bagging peaks or bikepacking. Ideal for a variety of activities, this lightweight pack features trekking pole and ice axe attachment points as well as a reservoir sleeve. Constructed with high-quality bluesign®-approved recycled high-tenacity nylon.
Our Verdict
The updated Talon 33 keeps its classic DNA but refines the carry system with a stiffer AirScape back panel and a better-shaped BioStretch harness and hipbelt. Weighing 1250g, it’s light enough for long days on the move, with a supportive frame that handles loads up to around 8kg comfortably.
The injection-moulded back panel holds its shape well while still flexing with your movement. I found the fit close and stable across uneven ground, with decent airflow even during hot, high-output days. The torso length adjusts easily using a sliding buckle system, which is more precise than the older Velcro design.
Storage is spot on for a pack of this size — the floating lid has internal and external pockets, and a large front stretch panel plus two stretch side pockets. My only gripe is that fully tightened compression straps can block bottle access. Dual hipbelt pockets are ideal for snacks or a compass, and the internal hydration sleeve keeps things tidy. I liked the integrated “Stow-on-the-Go” trekking pole carry system, though there’s no rain cover included, so I’d pair this with dry bags.
A lightweight, adaptable pack that hugs the body and stays comfortable over long, active days.
