The Mammut Taiss Pro IN Hooded Jacket is a robust and lightweight down jacket designed for alpine adventures. It offers exceptional warmth, packability, and weather resistance in extreme conditions.
Filled with 850-fill power hydrophobic DRYDown, the jacket provides impressive insulation even in damp environments, making it ideal for harsh mountain climates. Its durable and weather-resistant Pertex Quantum Pro outer fabric, crafted from recycled nylon, is also durable and weather-resistant. At 479g (size M), it balances warmth and portability, stowing conveniently into one of its pockets for efficient packing.
The thoughtful design includes a helmet-compatible hood with single-point adjustment, a two-way front zip for harness accessibility, and multiple pockets for storing essentials, including two internal Powermesh pockets for gloves or snacks. Pre-shaped cuffs and an adjustable hem further enhance fit and functionality, allowing complete freedom of movement during technical climbs or belaying.
While the jacket’s warmth is excellent for alpine use, it may feel excessive during high-intensity activities in milder conditions. For prolonged exposure to wet weather, pairing it with a protective outer layer is recommended.
