Our Verdict
This isn’t just a sleeping bag; it’s two; it’s also an encompassing sleep system you can use in any condition, one bag for all-year uses. An outer rectangular bag that functions like a quilt, and an inner bag, a completely separate, removable sleeping bag that tapers in at the feet. Used together, you have a sleep system you can use in some truly cold conditions, used separately, and you can use this bag in spring, summer and autumn well.
The outer bag also has a sleeping mat housing, which will fit a large selection of sleeping pad styles and shapes, the “pad cinch system” ensure the sleeping bag stays firmly on the pad so you can toss and turn, and not find yourself off the mat halfway through the night. The pad attachment also has a pillow sleeve, so your pillow won’t slid out during the night.
The women’s specific Roxy Ann bags do not taper in as much as the men’s and offer more room around the hips.
