Our Verdict
Mountain Equipment's Helium Down Quilt is great to bolster an existing sleep system or for use on its own in the summer. Its a generous size for one person so it can be wrapped around you if necessary and even turned into a sleeping bag (a draughty one) using the side poppers.
Quilts are a liberating way of sleeping but they are not for everyone, if you move about in the night a lot you'll be constantly re-arranging it and losing heat every time you do it. If you don't have a winter weight sleeping bag you can turn your 3 season bag into a winter one by adding a quilt like this either inside (if there's enough room) or lay it over and use tether cords to keep it in place.
Its got a sewn through construction and uses 700 Fill Power down, combined with lightweight materials, its quite hard to find quilts that are built to be lightweight. This one is - we like it.
