The Terra Nova Quasar 2 Tent is an exceptional choice for mountaineers and expedition enthusiasts seeking a robust and reliable shelter for year-round use. Renowned for its strength and durability, the original Quasar has proven its resilience in some of the harshest conditions around the globe for over two decades.

The Quasar's geodesic design is crucial, providing remarkable stability and strength. This inner pitch first design enhances stability, reduces noise in windy conditions, and maximises usable space by maintaining superb inner tension.

Colour-coded DAC poles make pitching straightforward and quick. The free-standing design is ideal for situations where ground conditions are less than perfect, as it doesn’t depend on guy lines and pegs to maintain its structure. Of course, they should still be utilised, especially in bad weather. 

The Quasar has two entrances and porches, with ample storage space (one porch for gear, one for cooking, entering and exiting). The inner doors feature full midge-proof mesh and solid inner panels, offering versatile ventilation options for various weather conditions.

Terra Nova’s Watershed and Waterbloc fabrics “guarantee waterproofing”, ensuring reliable protection in wet conditions. The tent's Dyneema reflective guylines provide additional stability, being three times stronger than standard guy ropes and exhibiting minimal stretch.

Weighing 3082 grams (excluding pegs and bags), the Quasar is relatively lightweight for a four-season, two-person tent designed for such extreme conditions. Its packed size of 47cm x 18cm is compact enough for efficient transportation, but if camping with a partner, it maybe a good idea to split the weight.
