Our Verdict
The latest Patagonia Outdoor Everyday Shorts keep things deliberately straightforward. They're light but still feel robust. At 246g (size M), the recycled nylon blend offers just enough stretch for scrambling or steep climbs. The fabric feels smooth against the skin and doesn’t cling, even when damp. The elastic waistband and integrated belt hold comfortably without digging in or shifting under a pack.
The 6-inch inseam strikes a nice balance—unrestrictive without veering into baggy territory. Storage is generous for a minimalist short, with five pockets, including two cargo-style and a rear with a hook-and-loop closure.
