Our Verdict
Fjällräven's Bergtagen Stretch Half Zip Jacket falls within their most technical, mountain oriented gear. This anorak is a versatile piece that is easy to pull on to combat wind or showers. The simple but effective design means that it can go straight on over a harness or under a pack for quick protection from the elements. There is a surprising amount of stretch in the fabric which is perfect for maximising your range of movement. The outer has durable Cordura nylon to cope with rock faces and heavy packs while the inner has a moisture wicking synthetic fabric to keep you comfortable.
The design is simple and basic in order to save weight. The hood fits under a helmet meaning that it is excellent for general use rather than the usual cavernous hood from 'helmet compatible' designs. There is also a single zip chest pocket for keeping essentials close at hand.
