The Fjällräven Keb Touring Jacket is a heavier weight, technical trekking jacket in robust four-way stretch fabric, perfect for winter ski touring or trekking.
Fjällräven says:
Winter’s best days are spent in unmarked terrain and Keb Touring Jacket gives you unlimited freedom of movement when trekking or ski touring. Durable, partially recycled stretch fabric ventilates out moisture when you are working hard, and protects you in changeable winter weather. Add to this reinforcements and durable features and you have the perfect companion for autumn and winter adventures.
Our Verdict
Fjällräven's Keb Touring Jacket is a heavy weight softshell. The thick, durable material is warm, stretchy and breathable. This jacket is ideal for changeable conditions in the colder months and with the addition of the vents on each side, is also great for active pursuits such as hiking in the mountains and ski touring. The use of the tough G-1000 fabric across the shoulders and seat make this a much more durable softshell then most competitors.
A solid, adjustable hood with Velcro cuffs and good sized chest pockets are welcome features, as are the two venting zips on the sides for when you heat up. The addition of large internal mesh drop pockets and the surprisingly versatile ski pass pocket on the arm are changes from the original Keb. This version is certainly a lot more softshell in it's design and the heavier materials provide a lot more warm for winter trips.
