Short-sleeved Abisko Trekking Shirt will keep you comfortably cool even on really hot days on the trail. Made from a lightweight, technical fabric that wicks away moisture and lets in air at the same time as it feels cool against the skin. Double chest pockets with flaps that can be both loaded from the top or from the sides with vertical zippers and mesh lining – the latter can also be used as ventilation openings. Perfect for trekking and travelling, and can be packed into one of its own chest pockets.
Our Verdict
Clothing in the Abisko family is designed for lightweight trekking. The garments are characterised by low weight, fast drying and good ventilation - perfect for when you want to move around easily, either in the summer mountains or in warmer climates.
Fjällräven's Abisko Trekking Shirt uses a lighter weight fabric than the usual G-1000 and it has a lot more stretch and is more breathable without losing too much durability. The shirt is designed for warmer conditions so ventilation is key to the fabric and the design. It has a lose fit for comfort and allowing the air to flow more freely.
Feature wise there's two generous chest pockets with button closures that double as vents with mesh openings down the sides. The collar has a double fold design which you can extend upwards to provide much more coverage from the sun and can be buttoned in place. An interesting addition for travellers is the ability to stuff the shirt into its own pocket for space saving when packing.
