Rab's Ascendor Jacket is a top level mid layer that uses breathable wicking fabrics in order to keep you dry and warm while you are trying to perform to you max in colder conditions.

The Ascendor Pull-On’s body mapped construction is designed to adapt more efficiently to your output and the conditions. A midweight, grid backed fleece is zoned to the torso, hips, shoulders, and upper arms and a lighter weight, micro grid backed fleece covers the centre hood, under and lower arms, and centre back. It has a soft collar and deep, half-length zip for effective ventilation. Stretchy and slim fitting, it’s comfortable under other gear and fits easily under a harness with a longer length at the back to cover the hips. Low bulk and packable, it’s a dynamic layer suited to high energy ascents.
Our Verdict
The gridded fleece fabric feels very nice against the skin, minimizing skin contact by limiting surface area, this helps to wick moister away without compromising on warmth.
The turtle neck design is brilliant at keeping the heat in, yet the half-length zip is fantastic at quickly venting heat if needs be.
It would work very well on cooler nights, as an additional layer to sleep in, as it would keep you warm without getting sweaty.
It’s a close athletic fit, that offers a large degree of movement, so would be good for any outdoor pursuits.
