Our Verdict
Mountain Equipment's Lumiko Hooded Jacket uses a lightweight fleece with an internal ribbed effect to trap more warm air than regular fleece making these types of fabrics perform better at similar weights. The ability of this ribbed fleece makes temperature regulation much more effective in both warm and cold conditions. It also does a great job in wicking sweat more effectively than standard fleece fabrics too.
This is a great next-to-skin running layer for when your long-sleeve tees are not providing enough warmth - also ideal as a cold weather, trekking baselayer and spring/summer midlayer. The full zip and hood on this jacket version is ideal for getting on and off easily while also allowing you to open it up fully to dump heat or throw the hood up for full coverage.
