Our Verdict
A functional and stylish warm winter layer is a fantastic addition to any winter set-up; it keeps you warm and looks fantastic.
This is a warm and cosy fleece, but it's more hard-wearing than I initially thought; it’s structured and holds its shape well; it's far more robust than I assumed it would be, it is not your standers soft fleece.
Internally the jacket is a smooth flat-knitted jersey style; it's supple and feels lovely and soft next to the skin. The vest has generous hand pockets, which are mesh-lined. I would rather they were backed with the flat-knitted jersey material, as I think they would be better "hand-warming pockets". I'm all for mesh pockets when I want layers to breathe, but I want this fleece to retain heat. It's a small nitpick that doesn't affect the vest's performance, but it is worth pointing out.
As for sizing, I take a medium in Fjallraven clothing, which was no exception here. I have a little room inside for extra layers and could wear a shell over the top without being impeded--a brilliant winter fleece.
