Our Verdict
Patagonia's Classic Retro-X Jacket is a fashionable outdoors midlayer, as at home around town as it is on the hills.
The simple pile styling is backed up by a windproof membrane that keeps out the wind chill. Soft to the touch, the high collar keeps you warm as a layering piece.
The collar is very thick, so layering it can feel a bit uncomfortable, especially with hooded layers.
