The Montane Khamsin Hoodie balances wind resistance, breathability, and insulation, making it a versatile choice for high-energy mountain pursuits and changing weather conditions.
Constructed from RAPTOR FLEX softshell fabric with 88% recycled nylon, it offers impressive durability and a four-way stretch for unrestricted movement. The PFC-free DWR coating adds light water resistance, while the innovative OCTA fleece lining, made from 100% recycled polyester, provides lightweight insulation and outstanding moisture management. This combination keeps you warm without overheating, even during intense activities like scrambling or fast-paced hiking. I'm a big fan of this lining. It retained its loft even under other layers, so it remains breathable and insulating under an outer shell.
The hoodie features an adjustable hood that can cinch around the crown of the jacket, with a reinforced peak for wind protection without limiting visibility. Elasticated cuffs, an adjustable hem, and a storm flap behind the front zip seal out the elements. Practical details like two zipped hand pockets and an internal pocket give you enough storage options, and the regular fit ensures the Khamsin layers are comfortably over a base layer or under an outer shell.
