Our Verdict
The Smartwool Hike Light Cushion Crew socks are an excellent choice for hiking and outdoor adventures. Made with a blend of responsibly sourced merino wool, recycled nylon, and a touch of elastane, they provide outstanding breathability, moisture management, and stretch.
A generous merino wool cushion underfoot provides impact protection and premium next-to-skin comfort. The virtually seamless toe box eliminates hot spots and blisters. Additional venting mesh zones allow airflow to prevent overheating. These socks have become my default choice for hiking. Soft and incredibly comfortable to wear, they provide not only protection but moisture wicking as well.
The key to their performance is Smartwool's Indestructawool technology, which reinforces high-wear areas for enhanced durability on the trail. The 4 Degree Elite fit system locks the socks without bunching or slipping.
