A tiny but mighty utensil that punches well above its weight in trail utility.
Sea to Summit says:
Frontier cutlery features handles with a unique profile for strength and to permit individual utensils to stack together. Food contact surfaces have a semi-polished finish for more enjoyable dining. Made of hard-anodized aircraft-grade aluminum, these utensils are built to go the distance.
Our Verdict
The Sea to Summit Frontier UL Short Handle Spork is a 7-gram multitasker built from hard-anodised aluminium, combining strength with simplicity. The short handle fits neatly into compact pots, making it a natural fit for nesting cook kits. It’s well-suited for eating directly from bowls or shallow pots, and the semi-polished food-contact surface feels smooth against the lips.
The prongs are sharp enough to function as a fork, which isn’t always true with spork-style designs. I’d still prefer a longer-handled option for deep meal pouches, but this version makes sense for minimalist setups. I keep mine inside my cook pot to avoid any risk of it poking into softer gear — and it’s held up well after multiple uses.
