Lightweight but rugged shell pants that shrug off wind and rain.
Haglofs says:
Don’t let rain and wet trail conditions ruin a great hike. With these lightweight and packable shell pants on hand, you can carry on as usual. They’re made out of a durable, 3-layer PROOF™ fabric in recycled polyester with a plain face and recycled membrane to supply breathable weather resistance. An elastic waistband and adjustable, zippered leg ends make them comfortable to wear and easy to pull on or off.
Our Verdict
I'm a big fan of these; they fit like actual trousers, not just something you throw on while it's raining. The dual-button closure and elasticated waistband ensure a good, secure fit. It's nice to have a pocket on a pair of rain trousers, and this is located on the hip; I would have preferred a hand-warming pocket, but I'm happy to have somewhere to keep critical items close at hand.
They have a ¼ length zip at the ankle, which makes getting the trousers on over trail runners fine, but larger, traditional boots may need to come off.
They shed the rain well and keep the wind off, I didn't get too warm wearing these, even though I was doing some tricky climbing, but I was using them in early spring when it was still a little chilly.
