Our Verdict
If you're aiming for the lowest possible pack weight without giving up the comfort of a double-wall shelter, the Fly Creek UL1 is a strong contender. The 2025 update keeps everything that worked before and adds subtle but meaningful improvements to make it even more reliable on the trail.
At just 781g (excluding pegs and bags), this tent is built for solo fastpackers and long-distance hikers. The single-pole structure is quick to pitch and keeps the overall weight impressively low, though it still flexes a bit in strong wind. Space is tight but functional—enough length for taller sleepers and just enough headroom to sit up. The vestibule is compact but handles a pack and boots without issue.
The new fabric performs well in wet conditions and feels much sturdier than older versions. Thanks to solution-dyed fibres, it's also more resistant to fading and is manufactured with a lower environmental impact. Two side pockets and a ceiling stash give you a bit of order inside, which is welcome in such a compact space. It’s not the tent I’d choose for exposed summit camps, but it's an excellent companion for moving fast between established sites.
