Our Verdict
The Montane Featherlite Nano Jacket is an incredibly lightweight and packable windshirt that sets a new standard for minimalist wind protection. Weighing an astonishingly light 53 grams (size medium), this jacket delivers windproof performance in a feather-weight package.
Made from recycled 10D Pertex Quantum ripstop nylon with a PFC-free DWR finish, the Featherlite Nano provides decent weather resistance despite its gauzy, thin construction—the trim athletic fit layers well without excess fabric.
A standout feature is the stuff pocket integrated into the jacket's collar. This pocket allows it to pack down to the size of a small energy bar, eliminating the need for a separate stuff sack.
While thin and specialised, the Featherlite Nano gets high marks for its ridiculously low weight and excellent packability, making it unnoticeable in your pack. This is an ultra-packable just-in-case wind layer for added protection for ounce-counting minimalists.
