Outdoor Research's Sun Bucket has a wide brim giving good protection of the face. A 'round the head' cinch cord keeps it in place during windy conditions.
Outdoor Research says: The shorter brim on the Sun Bucket offers UPF 50+ sun protection and remains stable in windy conditions. The drawcord adjustment and removable chinstrap keep it comfortably snug when the wind picks up.
Our Verdict
Outdoor Research's Sun Bucket Hat has a brim width somewhere between a narrow one on a bush hat and a wide one on a true sun hat - its wide enough to protect quite a bit of your face from direct sunlight. It has an internal sweat band and cinch cord sizing adjustment as well as a removable chin strap.
Cinch cord round the head stops the hat blowing away on windy days but you have the chin strap as an extra security if you feel you need it.
