Sea to Summit Air Seats are a bit heavier and they aren't as indestructable than their closed cell foam equivalents, however they are much more comfortable - this is the insulated version - great for colder weather or luxury at any time.
Sea to Summit says:
The insulated version of the Air Seat is made from a 30-Denier Polyester top and a durable 75 Denier Polyester base, and is filled with Thermolite® insulation. It is perfect for cooler conditions.
Our Verdict
Sea to Summit's Air Seats are about 50-100% heavier than a closed cell foam equivalent but they still weigh only 60grams or so and are much more comfy. Footprint wise they are about the same size, and they aren't indestructable like their closed cell foam equivalents.
Buy one of these then if you want comfort as well as insulation.
