Mountain Equipment's Eclipse Hooded Jacket is still a lightweight fleece that uses an internal brushed grid backer that has excellent wicking capabilities and is quick drying. The grid backer feels soft against your skin so would be comfortable to wear as a baselayer or a mid layer. The new Technostretch fabric has impressive levels of stretch and still delivers a great combination of low weight and low bulk.
The jacket features 2 hand pockets, a roomy chest pocket a full zip and snug but stretch hood. The cover stitched seams provide next to skin comfort, avoiding chafing and improving durability. The low bulk cuffs, thumb loops and a good length of fabric covering the back of the hand are extremely comfortable and add to the protection of the hands whilst easily fitting under a glove also. Overall the fit of this jacket is really quite generous in both its width and especially sleeve length.
