The Helinox Beach Chair is made for taking breaks on the beach between castle building and boogie boarding. Featuring splayed legs and a lowered seat height that ensure stability in the sand and mesh ventilation panels to provide airflow in hot weather. The tall back adds support, an adjustable headrest design ups the comfort, and side pockets are handy for smartphones, snacks, and sunblock make the Beach Chair a sanctuary in the sand. The chair's collapsible frame accommodates up to 145kg due to its advanced proprietary aluminium alloy for maximum strength-to-weight ratio. It sets up quickly, thanks to a single internal bungee cord that self-assembles the poles. The chair seat is made from ultra-durable, lightweight, UV-resistant polyester that holds up to harsh weather and the sun's rays. The chair seat and the tote (note: Blue Mesh style comes with tote only; all other colours include a carry sack) are easily machine washable (line dry). Ideal for any beach—ocean, lake, river, pond, stream—the Helinox Beach Chair is compact and lightweight for easy carrying.
Our Verdict
The Helinox Beach chair uses ultra-light collapsible tent pole technology to create a compact and comfortable camping chair. Having a chair you can lean back on is a big plus for me; it makes for a much more enjoyable and relaxing experience. The large feet legs sit flat upon the ground, not on little chair legs, like most other camping chairs; this means they are less likely to sink into the ground or sand and are more stable to sit on.
The chair poles are made from DAC aluminium, best known for their use in some of the strongest tents in the world, including Hilleberg, and the chair material is made from very breathable, durable polyester.
The chair's stuff sack doubles as a pillow pocket, and a beach town or down jacket can be inserted to support your head as you relax.
