Expedition Foods’ delicious light-weight meals provide the perfect nutrition for a wide range of outdoor pursuits. Freeze-drying food is the most successful method of preservation, making it taste better, look better, weigh less and last longer.
Expedition Foods says
A classic - Beef Stroganoff - made with beef, fluffy rice and vegetables including mushrooms and onions, saturated in a traditional sauce of yoghurt, paprika, lemon juice, parsley, salt and black pepper. Mid-way on any adventure, you'll want comfort food to provide sustained energy and motivation to reach the summit or next campsite. Highly recommended for Antarctica, the Skeleton Coast of Namibia or the Yorkshire Dales. Just add hot water and let sit for five minutes. Life could not get better.
Preparation: REMOVE THE OXYGEN ABSORBER* (Sachet) from inside the pouch. Slowly add hot water, stirring as you pour and then close the bag. Wait 5 minutes for the food to rehydrate. Cold water will suffice, however the re-hydration time is much longer.
* The oxygen absorber helps maintain product freshness and is non toxic. DO NOT EAT.

9/10 | |
STAFF'S TASTE TEST - I added the 345ml water (which is a very specific number but I did my best), waited the full 8 minutes. When I opened the pouch it was swimming in water/sauce, minestrone soup consistency, when I read the packet again it says add UP TO 345ml so it doesn't need anything like that. When I tasted it though it was excellent, the rice and beef had reconstituted really well, it just needed liberating from the depths of the sauce. I drank the last bit which tasted nice. I'm giving it a score of 9 because it was so tasty, if I ate a lot of them I'd probably fine tune the amount of water I used. |
